One of the challenges of learning science is the jargon - the specialised words that are used among scientists. Every teacher knows about this fear - they are forever giving out keywords, or developing wordlists, yet never quite agreeing on a core vocabulary. This book grew out of the idea that Science is a working language, with its own vocabulary and syntax and that ideas can not be understood nor remembered unless the words of Science are explained clearly. We have assembled a series of games, puzzles and tasks that both encourage the use of the appropriate words, and give the learner the confidence to enjoy the language of Science.
William's Words in Science is recommended for parents, teachers and students alike.
